Once again, the weekend is nearly in sight and it’s time for Thoughts on Thursday. This week, we’re sharing our picks for top bakery items at Walt Disney World.
Disney World - Best Baked Goods
Dave’s Thoughts - Once you read my thoughts on the best baked good at Walt Disney World, you will not need to read any further because Nick and Lisa’s thoughts don’t matter. The best, hands down, baked item at Walt Disney World is…. can you hear the drum roll?….. SCHOOL BREAD. This is the most delicious thing on the entire planet. It’s a sweet bread with a white chocolaty frosting covered in coconut filled with a vanilla pudding. It is something that you will crave the rest of your life after just one bite. This delicious piece of baked bread can be found in Epcot’s Norway pavilion at Kringla Bakeri Og Cafe. Make sure to stop by, but be warned, you may never look at baked snacks the same again.
Nick’s Thoughts - One of my favorite out of the way spots in all of Walt Disney World is The Writers Stop in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Located just off of Streets of America next to Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, it’s a great place to get out of the heat, rain, cold, etc. and enjoy a snack, and my favorite snack is The Carrot Cake Cookie! It’s delicious cream cheese frosting sandwiched between 2 slices of carrot cake. And, oh yea, it’s the size of your head!
Rumor has it this establishment will be closing shortly, and in fact could be closed by the time this article posts, but I’ve also heard that the CCC will be served elsewhere! I’ll post updates on our Facebook Page.
Lisa’s Thoughts - Generally, I’m more into savory snacks than sweet ones, but there is one delightfully delicious baked treat I very much enjoy. In Epcot as you head into World Showcase and turn towards Canada, there’s a small building called The Refreshment Port on the right. On the menu there you will find the warm, delicious and oh-so-satisfying Croissant Doughnut. It’s covered with a dusting of cinnamon-sugar and is practically perfect in every way (very worth the $4.99 price). If you’re really hungry, you can even order one topped with ice cream ($6.29). Me? I like mine plain so it will retain its particularly special blend of crunchy/flaky yumminess. Yikes! I’ve drooled on my keyboard. This was a bad idea.
